The K&N 63 series system shows to have a better HP increase over the 77 series system. That's right off K&N's web-site.
Just thought it was kind of interesting. The polished aluminum tube that the 77 series system must be mainly for looks than performance gains.

OK heres the real deal....http://www.knfilters.com/search/appsearch.aspx.....for Tweaked 5300 if you want the 77 series for your 5.3L go ahead and get it cause off the K&N site the 57 series produces 9.11hp@5352rpm & the 77series 8.22hp@5067rpm who's gonna loose sleep over less than one horse I say go ahead and get that 77 and it looks go too and I have one also. Now for the 6.0 thats a whole different story the 57 series makes 15.17hp @5018rpm & 77series 14.05hp @4897rpm it's a whole 1.12hp more so if you had a 6.0L you'd wanna get the 57 series. You can see also the difference between both engines is rpms, also K&N shows the 57 series to have more hp so they can sell more of the 57 series cause it's made of plastic and it's cheaper to make so K&N makes more money than 77 series which uses an aluminum intake tube and its more expensive to make. So I finish with this do what I did and buy the 77 Series off Ebay you'll save alot of money and you engine will look great.

well it depends what you wanna do... the 63 tube, being plastic will produce a little more power constantly over the 77 except maybe in a track situation, where you could ice down the metal intake tube between runs and it would hold the cooler temperature longer than a 63. as a matter of fact i dont think i would ice down a plastic tube in fear of it cracking due to temperature changes.

Why Dont You Just Get A Mac Performance Intake? There Just As Good As A K&n And A Hell Of A Lot Cheaper, You G\can Ge Ta Brand New One For Like 170$ With The K&n Filter And A Polished Aluminum Intake Tube. Just A Thought, Also When It All Comes Down To It Most Intakes Are Allthe Same And Run Off The Same Principals, Except For Maybee Volant And Trueflow, That I Know Of
