On my 84 silverado I just had a 13" Dia. x 5" tall open Air K&N. Man I miss the sound of my four barrel opening up but I dont miss being as slow or the 10 mpg I got.
With the K&N it reminds me of the sound of a 4bbl (or maybe even a large 2bbl...like a Holley 500) with no air cleaner. It seems to run a little stronger than stock.

aFe for me, new filter design, great customer service and a decent price from rpmoutlet.com, not the ticket if you are not looking for a plastic tube though. To top it all off, dropped my et by a few tenths...the damn thing really works!
