Default K&N Oil Filters

Has anyone used them?? Are they some of the better filters out there?

Would you use them over Delco?

What is the best oil filter out there?? What about oil. Assuming I want to stick with the 5w30 and not switch to synthetic yet what do you recomend?

I have used them before. I read in a study that was posted here a while back that those and the Mobil 1 oil filter were the best you can buy at a store. I also like the fact that you can remove it with a socket. Don't really like that $10 price tag though.

Hmmm AC Delco PF59 ~$2.0. K&N about $6.00. Since I change my oil every 3k, no way I'll spend that much for a K&N, unless it was reuseable <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> AC (despite some of their other products) gets very good ratings anyway.

Thanks fellas, I change my own oil and I do it every 2500 miles 3000 max, and I have NO problem at all with spending a bit more for a better quality product.

If there is one thing I never skimp on its parts for my truck.

Don't confuse price with quality. Read this thread: OIL FILTER IMO if you spend over 10 bucks for a oil filter, your throwing money away. When is the last time anyone has heard of a truck engine failure related to an oil filter anyway. If you change your oil every 3k and it still looks remotly clean, then the filter is doing the job.
