K&N Vs. All The Rest.
I don't know guys. I have seen some test results showing K&N to filter the worst. K&N say they are the best.
All I know is I have been running them since the 70's. Living in FL and running a dirt bike in the fine and loamy orange groves and such. When I serviced my Suzuki YZ400 air filter for the first time I noticed a bit of fine particles in the carb throat. I cleaned it out and ran down and bought the most advertised, latest and greatest, and most expensive foam filter I could get. At the next service I still had it. Not allot but just like the OE had let in.
I went to a sprint car race not long after and it was really dusty. There had been no rain for a long time and the track water truck did not help allot. By the end of the race it was a dusty bowl. I could not help but notice some of the cars were using a filter like I had never seen. A K&N.
Ran down got one and ran it for longer than I should have and when I looked there was NO particles in the carb throat.
My brother ran one from day one on his 87 pickup up to 225k miles without abnormal compression loss or signs of damage from a faulty filter. The truck runs mint, no smoke or oil burning.
So I don't know who to believe, and if they are not the best filtering agent out there, then they must be good enough. If they made one for my lawn mower I would have one on it.

i have had the k and n 77 series on my 2004 silverado ss for about 3 months now. i love it. the sound is great, and the SOTP improvment is noticable. i constantly check my filter and MAF sensor screen for debris/grime and i havent been able to find anything yet.
