Default Killed my Great exhaust sound...siucks

Whelp, just got back from having a muffler shop install my Borla Mufflers after I got my turbo kit put on. To say the least i'm unhappy. I had whatever comes on the RST trucks, been told maybe a flowmaster series of some sort, but none the less it was chambered. I didn't do my research on straight thru mufflers, but I miss all my notes and clean sound of the chambered muffler. I was worried about drone with no cats, so I went with two mufflers.

Setup: JBA: Shorty left header, cross pipe, KB racing steel manifold, .81 t4 housing, 3inch DP, 3inch round Borla Xr1, cut-out mid truck, point towards curb, borla xs 3inch in, duel 2.5 outs, running back to rollpan exits.

With the cutout closed it's crazy quite, and still dull sounding and boring. With it open, sounds like a untuned carburated 350. Some may dig it, but i'm not a fan.

Don't get me wrong, some may like it, but I think it sounds like EVERY other v8 truck on the damn road, not the tuned street truck it was and I enjoyed.

Damage: 130 per muffler, 150 install, 125 cutout, end of the day hate it. Only reason I took the damn thing off was because it has a couple rust spots coming thru.

don't know what they sound like with a turbo but they will get louder. I have the oval and not round.
I've thought about cutting it off and seeing what it sounds like with just the Bullet i'm using as a resonator.

At least let them break in before changing them. This way you don't spend more money if you don't need to. I agree on just putting some big 4"+ piping at the end. A few guys on here did that after the turbo and it sounded mean.

Exhaust seems like a damn guessing game. Its frustrating sometimes, you spend lots of money and dont get the end result you want.

I wish every exhaust shop had a few diff. mufflers you could try out before you settled on one. sure would save us a lot of time/ money.

Kudos to you for posting, ive been there a few times too.
