Default KN FIPK and UPD.

I just purchased a 2500HD 4X4 LT and I am thinking about buying the KN, but from what I have read the UPD is better. Who makes it?

If you want cold air, go with a Volant intake, if you want something cheap, go with a K&N. The UPD is too expensive for its ****-poor build quality (it breaks very easily) and their service sucks(won't answer emails).

Okay, but why? From what I have seen out here to gain the benefits from the Volant you have to hack the bottom of the stock air box? Is that correct. What gains did you see from the UPD?

My 01 Z-71 was hit, so I traded it in. Besides, I paid $29,971 for the truck, so I could not turn it down. Sorry, about the pics. I will send some pics of the car to you.

I think Fast4.8 gained a few extra horsepower with the UPD over another intake setup. I can't remember which one though. Maybe he'll chime in.

I've had one for a while now. It's been off and on several times without any problems.
