Knock retard at part throttle
I've noticed that i'm getting some knock retard at times during part throttle driving/accell.I get none during a WOT run.Is this normal??Could it be false knock.It seems to range any where from around .4 to 4.0 degrees.When it goes as far as 4.0 it doesnt stay there but a second or less then starts going back to zero.It doesnt allways do it during the exact seem driving conditions.Is there a way to tell if it's false knock??

It mostly seems to show up under 4th gear/under load conditions.Every now and again it will show up in other gears.
Could it be normal??It doesnt show up all the time,and so far none at WOT.
This weekend i'll pull the tuning out of it and see what shows up with the stock tune.If it goes away with the stock tune i guess i'll need my part throttle tune adjusted some.

So ranwalk, how do you like your predator? Does your truck run better with TM removed? I also have ordered a predator with custom tuning from john @ runninwiththedevil for my truck but haven't received it yet. I can't hardly wait.

You need some tuning. You are going to need Edit with that thing. The predator I don't think is gonna cut it for FI. You can take out some timing at certain load/rpms to alleviate the Knock. I don't think the Predator has the ability to change the #'s more than a couple degrees does it?
BTW I tried to get them to make me one, and they didn't get back to me oh.....six months now ago after I inquired about a custm tune. Just an insight. No offense to any vendors, but I have bought the boxes, and now wished I had used the $ to get Edit first like many told me. Sam

I agree that edit is the best,but i personally dont need the complexity of it or the cost right now...edit-$500.00,used laptop-$400.00,autotap-$300.00.The Pedator is filling my needs right now for $425.00 and if I do any mods that require more tuning I can get a new file made and sent to me to load from my computer.Granted a new file may be 75-120 bucks,but it will be sometime before i do anything major that requires additional tuning.
