knock sensor and knock retard question

Well tonight i tried decreasing the knock attack rate and it did jack ****.. Im getting a little frustrated with the knock sensor... i even pulled 4 degrees of timing to see if it was real knock, made no difference... I just get a constant 4. Im going to try a new knock sensor next if that doesn't work than its resistor time, and if that fails... There will be some knock sensor tables zero'd out.. The one that says max retard
