L33 5.3 in 2450 lbs car, now what cam?
just looking for some support, I was directed here from ls1tech, I have a 93 mazda rx7 couldn't afford a ls1 so I got the next best L33, I am going to have to change the intake manifold to a ls style so I am thinking an ls6 intake, a few have recommended a ls6 cam, question is, whats a better cam I want good torque curve, lots of power on the top end. I am considering buying a used fast 90/90 setup but was curious if that is over kill? any idea what kind of power a n/a 5.3 can make? without replacing the heads?

The 5.3 in my s10 has a tr220-114 in it. The truck weighs in at 2700lbs. My motor is carburated so take what i have to say with a grain of salt, the same principles still apply though. The motor makes no power untill about 3k rpm, its like hitting a light switch when the power comes on and it pulls all the way up to redline (I shift at 6400rpm). With the truck being so light though, it isn't an issue at all.

well I don't want scary kick in power, because I'd like to take this thing to the road course once in a while. I have heard good things about the tr220. Not to sound like a dyno bitch but any idea what kind of hp and torque numbers I could expect from a l33 with tr220 with ls6 intake, of course headers, and cai?
still curious if the fast 90/90 combo would do this small engine any favors?
