L92 Custom Cam/Cam selection
Hey guys, I am putting together a head/cam swap for my GM LQ9 6.0L and have been looking for a cam. I contacted livernois and they can give me either a custom cam or the one they have for the same price. I dont know enuff about cams to spec it my self...does anyone have a program or want to help me pick one??
6.0L
L92 head
Upgraded springs (.600)
A4
4.11 Gears-AWD
5600lbs
DD
stall undecided but should be between 2600-3K
Here are the few off the shelf grinds: the Livernois StageII
230/236 .590/.600 114
and carcraft's LS2 cam that put up 500hp thru a carb intake(compXR281HR)
228/230 .571/.573 112
Thanks for the help/tips/advise

I'm no cam expert, but I just wanted to give you a stall recommendation for the Yank TT3000 stall. Drives almost like a normal SS until you put your foot past 1/2 to 3/4 throttle, even on the stock cam. HUGE thumbs up!!!
I'm getting ready for my L92 swap and I chose a custom grind of 231/236 591/601 114+4lsa, and I went with the carb style intake drilled for injectors. So I'd guess I'd choose the first one.

You'll be very happy with the Car Craft grind with your gear and converter choice. Remember, with L92 heads you can reduce the cam duration by 6-10º without losing the top end horsepower. Then the lower duration lobes will increase the average torque to the low and mid range rpms. Also the 112ºlsa will build a larger torque bubble than the 114ºlsa. Don't worry about the lower lift. The L92's flow well enough to not require lots of lift especially in truck or other high load applications.
Hope this helps.

That last cam may well be a good choice. With the big flow of the intake side on the L92's I wouldn't want a duration any bigger on the intake side than 224@.050 for what you're doing. Just my opinion.

Thanks Zippy, been meaning to call but seems like I cannot talk on the phone w/o my kids deciding to go crazy.
They will custom grind one too, should I think about changing the specs any??
I get some conflicting info not to mention people are super crazy about giving out L92 cam specs.

well I am getting the smaller one:
224/230 .581/.590 114
It was designed with 6.0L in mind and alot of guys who run a few cams say the smaller the better with little loss of power. I will keep all the L92 eyes posted
