Default LaPole Headers. How do you like them?

Well, I sold my AZSM Headers because they were not CARB certfied and I don't want to be switching out gear every two years, BUT, I'd still like some quality headers.

Looks like my options are LaPole and TOG as they are both CARB.

TOG's are soooo damn expensive though at about $900 before shipping, thats coated.

Where as the LaPoles are about $600, before shipping, and coated.

I emailed LaPole and they are 1 3/4 primaries port matched to the head, non equal length mid header and John compared them to Mesa headers, although I don't know the reference.

Can anyone tell me what size the collector is?

Last, how do you like them? how much HP did you gain? etc. etc.

How much power did you gain with the ASM headers? Do you think you will get the same power as ASM out of either of the two headers your looking at?

I never installed them, I've had a few issues hold me up.

anyway, of course the AZSM's were my top choice, being LT's and all, but the visual at smog tests would have forced me to change back to stock manifolds for the test.

John told me they were using 3" collectors...

I haven't had a chance to put in an order for the Lapoles yet, but I'm dead set on them. I might skip on them until spring - I'm thinking of diverting the funds to a set of rockers. Not quite sure yet.

I was serously considering the Lapole headers before my ASM's and left countless messeges and they got back to me. After a few weeks, TByrne ran a sale and got my ASM's from him.

moregrip....go with the Dynatech SuperMaxx headers, the quality is absolutly incredible on these things !!!, and they ARE smog legal when you buy the ones with the cats built in !!

I realize they are the most expensive headers out there...but IMHO they are far and away the best built ones as well...and if your gonna spend $900 on mid-length headers you might as well spend $1294 on LT's, high-flow cats, and crossover pipe (all stainless steel)

Good point, Yelo...

I really like the fact that they're stainless... That's pretty much required in the snow-belt.

Dude, I'm with you, but I had the same problem with the AZSM's, they are smog compatable, but they don't have a CARB #. In other words, they would pass the sniffer test, but, just because they don't have a peice of paper with a CARB # on it, they fail.

Do you know for sure the Dynatech's have a CARB #?

typically yes, however, I bought my truck in Las Vegas, paid cash, got on a winning streak and celebrated at Heard Chevrolet, so every two years from jump!
