larger crank pulley with whipple?
I need a new crank pulley, and appearlantly, a pinning kit. Mine keeps wobbling loose. I was thinking about putting a larger pulley on. Good idea? If so, what size and where do I get one? What about the pinning kit, where do i get that?
thanks

Magnacharger does a kit,it has a drill guide
with a long bolt which bolts to the crank then a drill bit that you drill a hole either side of the crank on the inside edge of the pulley then a reamer to clean the holes then you remove the guide install two roll pins and install the provide stock crank bolt to stock torque specs. It's fairly easy if you have the truck on a rack.

i was just looking at mine again. the pulley that i need to replace is only 6 1/2 inches. there are actually 2 pulleys right on top of each other. the one in front is the one that is hooked to the supercharger, the one behind it is hooked to the water pump/alternator etc. the back one is 7 1/2 inches. I guess i'm a little confused. Which is the crank pulley?

The one in front is the supercharger pulley. I had mine made 7.5 inches to match the crank pulley. I had to send ASP the original so they could make a blueprint, but you should be able to just order one since I already "paved the way"
It sounds like you and I have the 2 belt system, and yellow has the single belt setup.

Yeah, anyway. I just spoke to Lee at ASP. He says it will be at least 4 weeks and cost $350. I'm thinking NO. that's f'n insane. I guess i'll be ordering a stock pulley to replace my damaged one. Oh well, now I know. Thanks for the info guys.

I guess maybe I should have ordered the pulley from ASP. What I thought was the crank pulley that I ordered from GM, was actually the harmonic balancer. The crank pulley isn't even a GM part. I just had to call whipple to order a new one. $150. So, I'm now down $280. Christ, for $350 I could have had a larger crank pulley. ****** Fuquer.
