Default Larger transmission pans?

Has anybody installed a larger tranny pan to hold more fluid? If so, what's the verdict? I am planning on putting the bottle on my truck when I get some extra money around christmas time, and I really don't want to tear up the transmission in the process.

dont know about the pan but start off with a good size tranny cooler like a hayden or perma cool.

I believe there's two types of pans. I went to the dealer and they have a deep pan and a shallow pan. This is for a 4L60E 4-speed. I would go with a cooler instead.

I put a B&M deep pan on mine when I did the 30K fluid change. It is definitely bigger than my deep pan, I know mine is deep since I bought both filters and the deep filter matched my old one. It is cast aluminum and has fins. It holds a little more fluid, maybe two quarts. I have not been able to notice any difference, but I do not have a trans temp gauge, it drives and shifts the same. I just wanted a little insurance.
