I was looking at some photos of the racetronixs duel pump unit. I noticed that they just cut the bottom out of the bucket and the filter socks stick out the bottom. If the bucket pushes against the bottom of the tank wouldnt this pinch the socks? Or does someone know if they shorten the bucket a little?

How far off the bottom of the tank should I place the pickup??? My tank is 14" from the top rubber mounting ring to the bottom. I cut out the bottom of my bucket and mounted my pump and it is 1" off the bottom of the tank. Should I go lower?
