Default late 07 engine swap

has anyone here done a late 07 engine swap on a any earlier truck here..
they gave me a late 07 lq4 motor i wanna fix up but not knowing if it will work dirrectly into my 06 gmc truck...

would it be an easy task or what would i need

everything should bolt up exactly the same but you will most likely need the lingenfelter reluctor wheel wiring harness since your going from 24x to 58x

Depends on whether or not the motor came from an '07 Classic (GMT-800) or an '07 NBS (GMT-900) truck. Look at the camshaft position sensor to identify what color it is, if it is grey it is a 58X sensor (I.E. new model Gen IV) and if it is black it is a 24X sensor and is the same as your '06 model (Gen III). The Gen IV will also have the knock sensors on the sides of the block instead of under the intake manifold. If it ends up being a Gen IV, just as has already been mentioned you can pick up a 58X to 24X convertor from Lingenfelter and harness conversion extensions can be picked up from a couple of suppliers for the knock sensors and camshaft position sensor.
