just to update anyone searching for this issue, I installed the lsxrt on my truck with the FAST 92 TB and had it street tuned by Patrick Guerra. The driveability, idle, throttle response are all excellent - hot or cold starting. I don't know what went wrong with some of the other guys on here, but it worked out great for me.

Yeah probably a moot point, but my LSX-R intake with a NW 102 is running great in my Silverado too. Street drivability couldn't be any better, and throttle response is insane!
I think it's all in the install process and tuning...

Im sure with as many times as he had it on and off, he figured out to install it right at least once.. And mail order tuning can be difficult at times, but with logs should of gotten pretty close. There is no doubt in my mind it was a quality issue, they are hit and miss with the earlier ones being shittier because im assuming comp realized their **** up and corrected it, just a guess tho..
Also its already been said in this thread cam selection plays a roll in some of the intakes issues in some peoples opinions.. and the lsx-r is totally different, never heard of anybody complain about those before..

There was never an install issue, The Original one was warped, confirmed, and replace by comp cams.

I truly believe it was the 111lsa cam causing my idle surge problems. DNW to swap cams to hammer out idle issues. The power and throttle response was amazing tho lol

Truck was mail order tuned by Black bear, and in person tuned by SPI in Oakville ontario, Once 2 reputable tuners tell you its untuneable to get it to idle right...I take there word.

i pulled the flt level 7 out of the truck, and installed it into my tvs cc, and ordered a tick stage 3 gto t56 for this truck. Its going on, and nnbs intake and my 92mm when tuning happens

Your bang on with the lsx-r. I did one on a Heads and cam ls2 ctsv, and it ran amazing even with no tuning. Afew small adjustments blackbear made and its perfect
