Out of the blue question:
What is the compression ratio of my stock 5.3 vs. my new LQ4? I know the LQ4 can take a little more boost than the LQ9 safely because of the lower CR, is this true of the 5.3/LQ4? Just wondering.

as far as i know... both are 9.5:1 so same amount of boost safe probably...... good luck finishing up the install.... can't wait to hear the results.

Default Day 2

Got the tranny dropped. Finished installing the springs on the new engine. Drained the radiator, oil, etc...Got the fan pulled and half of the wiring harness unplugged when we were told to clean up?? The shop closes at 4 on Sat/Sun instead of 8. So we lost 4 hours today and tomorrow. Looks like this will roll into next week. Mark (the guy helping me) was really getting irritated with the Radix He has never installed a s/c before. Tomorrows plan is to finish pulling the engine, pin the crank, swap accessories, and put the stall and tranny back in. The Radix will be attempted Sunday or maybe Tuesday. Time flies when your having fun.

Question, Mark thought I couldn't use the fuel pump voltage booster with a return fuel sytem. Any reason why I can't?

belt should be the other way around the water pump:

I've changed the belt enough to spot that immediately

Hmmm. I'll have to look at that. I never had any slipping or any other issues the way it is in the pic. Whats the difference?

That would have been self critiquing if the H2O pump was turning the wrong way lol! Watching the temp gauge climb steadily. Wonder if my belt will fit the right way? I did get a quick skreech if I nail it from a stop and drop off real quick before the 1-2 shift. Maybe the correct belt wrap would fix that. Thanks for the info

LMAO I looked that that earlier and it just did not look right....Guess the daily tech calls are getting to me

I THINK you will have a problem with the way your water pump flows from the looks of the belt....I am all screwed up just looking at it
