on a boosted set up the lq4 is better. lower compresion will allow more boost before detonation and ends up giving you more power.

i can swap a motor in about 10hours with no help at all and that includes the extra work for the turbo. if you find some experienced help i think swaping it in one day would be easy.

Pretty much sealed a deal on a 23K mile LQ4 with heads, cam etc. No accesories but all my 5.3 stuff should swap right over correct? Still checking to see if the crank pulley is on the LQ4, if not will mine work or are they different? Thanks for everbodies help on this. If it wasn't for this site I would be screwed....or is it...if it wasn't for this site I wouldn't be in this situation!
New question. When the swap is complete, I can't run this on my 38# injector, 5.3 PCM can I? So I have to have a tuner standing around with his laptop or a tuned PCM to put in just to start up?

what year is that motor? what heads? what cam?

it should start and run(depending on the cam), you could get to work ok too but i wouldn't let it get into ANY boost ever.

2004 LQ4 with stock heads and cam. Came out of a HD 4X4. Think I will have problems with the swap?

nope, it will slap right in there. when you said with heads and cam i thought you were saying something other than stock heads and cam.

you will like it. you have some work to do on your fuel system and tuning now.

do you have hptuners? plenty of HD Radix bin files floating around to get you started

EDIT: however, as stated above, you'll need a custom tune and driving it very easy until that happens is a must, especially without the 42lb injectors and you said you had a stock fuel pump(no voltage booster?)

EDIT #2: Good Luck!

The tuner I am going to have hook it up after its all runnning has HP tuners. I have a voltage booster, it was going to go in next week. Its the early model Magnuson one, its red. I also have 42# Ford racing injectors coming this week. These were all going into the 5.3 but will now go to the 6.0 Would a 225lph inline pump be better than the voltage booster? Might as well do it all right the first time.
Now, should I get a 80E or is the 65E gonna hold for awhile. I am looking at a level 5 65E from FLT in a few months. I just need my current built 65E to hold up to the 6.0 and Radix until then. Fingers tired now....

Im sure that tranny will hold up if you keep your foot out of it. Between the motor swap, pcm issues, fuel pump, tranny, and injectors, I think you have more than enough reasons to let the civic beat you at the next stop light.

the '65 will hold up fine, and I would consider the 225 pump over the booster....good luck with the swap!
