I have had K&n volant airraid and they all do the same thing pretty much! I like the volant best cuz its louder than the other ones I have had...it gives a nice whisteling noise! But I only have 11$ in my volante! I would just go for the cheapest one you can find!

Cool thanks for the info. I'm just thinking that in conjunction with a tune, the CAI will make a difference. Probably not just by itself. I'm going to be ordering a tune here soon so I've been adding some bolt ons before I get it. (Exhaust, intake, efans, then a tune)

just look around and dont be in a rush. I've had the k&n 57/77 series and they work good. Found a brand new GMPP CAI for about $150. I like this inake over an open element filter.

Where should I be looking? Ebay's like the only place I can think of to get a good deal on a new intake.

That's funny I think the Volant and other closed air box type CAI's are way quieter than the open type CAI's! My K&N screams compared to the Volant I had on my old truck.

I definatly think the closed air box type are the better ones to get. The Volant setup is a great one if you snag one up cheap!

Maybe the K&n is louder but it was on my 99 with 10" of lift super swampers and flowmasters with no cats...so Idunno theres no way I would have ever heard it!
