i would go with a 220/224 .581/.581 115+4. it will give it a more agressive tone but it would still run good on a s/c

so the concensus is something with low duration... ive seen 204/218, 211/218, 212/118, 206/212, and 220/224

also, I have seen as far as stall converters...something like a 2600 or 2300. What is stock?

And along with the cams, better springs and possibly bolts.

Does this all sound about right? How would all of the ones I listed work with a magnacharger? And out of the ones I listed is there a best choice or is it just pick one and have fun?

Thanks again for all the help!

I would pick the 212/218 and a 2600 stall, also some PAC springs. Others will tell you to go larger but your truck is alot bigger than most. Also the bigger the cam, the bigger you'll want the stall and i have a TT3000 in my truck and it's pretty loose, especially for towing and wheeling.

Have you ever driven a vehicle with a high stall? When your just driving easy it kinda feels like the trans is slipping, but when you mash it the TC flashes to it's stall speed and "launches". Kinda hard for me to explain but some people say their truck feels slower after swapping to a high stall TC because of the way it slips. It makes you faster though because of the higher rpm launch and less rpm drop between shifts.

so it has to do with shift points? It sounds like in a car with a shift kit with higher line pressure, or like my truck thats programmed for short "hard" shifts depending on throttle position.

or maybe I just totally read it wrong

Yea, i guess you kind of read it wrong. Shift points stay the same, it's just when it does shift the converter "slips" slightly to keep the rpms up. Try posting up on LS1TRUCK.COM and see what those guys have to say.
