Default lifter collasped?

hey guys, ive had a small tap tap sound that i sounds like an exaust leak, well lately its been gettin louder so i popped the hood to check it out,, i didnt find an exaust leak, but it sounds like its coming from the passenger side of the block. when i bump the throttle body, it makes a small squeak/metal sound along iwth the tap tap. has anyone had anything similiar?

Hadn't heard from ya lately bigguy!
Sounds like a valvetrain issue to me too. Another theory to the lifter is a broken valve spring or lost bearings from a rocker. These are common issues with the car folks. Can't remember how much head/cam stuff you did to the 6.0L when you swapped. Maybe try posting on the LS1/LS6 engine section for more help...

Pull the valve covers and inspect the springs.

yeah, its good to be back, i missed workin on my truck,, ive swapped back to a totally stock 5.3 tho. I blew the 6.0 and spent all my money and had to get back to stock. im tring to trade it in on a diesel, but this tap tap thing is gonna cause problems trading it in i think.

Pop the valve cover off and see if any of the rockers are/feel loose. When I collapsed a lifter, I could rock that rocker back and forth even when the cam was at it's max lift point(.612 lift too!) Also, drain your oil to see if any needle bearings are down there. May just need to replace a rocker.

Yeah, Get a soundclip. It may be easier to diagnose that way.
