Default Lifter replacement and GT-7 Cam install

I had a lifter that started making a bunch of noise so it seemed like the right time to upgrade the whole valve train. I found most of the information here of course but there were a few parts that came up after the breakdown. Here is the parts list in case anyone is looking to do the same.

Linginfelter GT-7 Camshaft
GM Ls7 lifters -12499225
Comp Hardened pushrods 7.400” - 7955
GM LS6 valve springs - 12499224
GM 5.3 MLS Head Gaskets ea. - 12575329
GM Water pump gaskets (2x) - 12559271
ARP Head Bolts - ARP 134-3610

Can't wait to get it back together for a drive and tune.

I took a few along the way. I'll probably finish it up on Saturday and post them up then. I also found out my balancer must have twisted a little on the crank but luckily I have the pinning kit ready to go.

Figured I would follow up with some pics now that everything is buttoned up and breaking in.

Motor tear down.

Heads with LS6 springs.

Passenger head going on.

Back together

I'll probably take it easy for a few weeks and keep an eye on everything before I take it in for a tune and dyno.

Looks good Is the lifter noise gone? Did you push down on them and find one to be weak?

Keep me updated after tune as to how much traction you have with stock converter.I still spin Mickey Thompson radials 30x12's 1st to 2nd uncontrollaby with 2600 converter.I may go back to stock converter when FLT V goes in.I have the same cam on 3.2 pulley at 8 lbs.

No before #s yet but I would say ~390-400hp. I hpe to be around 450 after a solid tune and some time to break in the motor. Best part about the whole thing is no more lifter noise. I couldn't get any great indication other than listening when it was running. I'll post up some numbers after I get it on the dyno.
