pulled the valve cover and the rockers had a lot of play in the bearing shafts... side to side movements, and up and down only a couple rockers had that... spark plugs looked like its been running very rich...

when i turned the truck back on i checked it all out... the sound comes from both sides but its much louder on the bottom end.

side to side movement in the rockers??? that cant be good, how much movement?

The rockers will have some side to side play if you wiggle them...
