Default limit of stock 6.0 longblock?

i put this in the FI section but usualy get the best answers in here so here it is.

looking for some oponions here, you can see most of my set up below. i have a bone stock 6.0 longblock in my truck and have been running the whipple on it for about a year. i recently added a nx wet kit sprayed right after the blower. so far i have only tried the 35shot with 6psi of boost.

i monitor and log everything i can, i have a wide band and am seeing right at 11-1a/f ratio, i run 100 octane and see 0 knock retard, seeing about 15deg of timing. pulse width is good, fuel presure gauge. 9.4-1 compresion!!

my question is how far can i push this thing before it blows, i obviously wont be devastated if it does blow or i wouldn't have tired the 35 shot but i am not looking to blow it up either. who here thinks i can take it farther and how much farther or am i going to break something if i go farther. should it have broken allready?

I think you can take it farther. But for how long is the real question. It might hold up to a 100 shot of nitrous and 10 psi from the whipple for one run, maybe more. Then again, it might decide to let go the first time. Its all a gamble.

You have done the right thing getting the fuel system taken care of and buying the wideband. I personally think that will prolong the life of your motor.

I think you'll have a chance at a longer life by keeping the rpms down some. That should give your rods and rod bolts a fighting chance. I'm concerned at how long the cast pistons can take the pressure.

What are your thoughts on this?

hey check this out, atap has an alarm feature that you can set for anything it monitors, i am going to set an alarm for my KR and if it goes over a couple degeres it will let me know. since i wont be able to hear it when making a run i am going to try one of those cassete adapters and just plug it into the stero, then i can crank it up. a super loud KR alarm for just a few bucks, i could set other alarms as well to let me know to let off. hmmmm.

oh yea, congrats on the modorator gig.

As of right now, it looks like your are the only one. I say you limit the juice until track day...then try out the N20 in this order...50shot...75shot...100shot. If it doesn't blow by then, I guess it is pretty strong.

By the way, make sure you have someone video taping your runs at the track, I want to see it run.

Thanks Jim. I'll look at the autotap thing.

We actually need at least 2 cameras - one from the stands and one in cab so we can watch your face during the run.

6,978rpm on a 100 shot, is what I took it to last night. I will not say what I did, because I will look like a jackass.
Anyway, I was just about to bounce off of my rev limiter when I let off. I still have the snapshot stored in my Tech 2.
P.S. The motor has less than 1,500 miles on it.

BTW - What springs are you running? 7000 rpms is very high, especially w/ nitrous. I'm suprised you weren't standing in line this morning trying to get another motor. Be careful, you still need to get a good 12 second slip.

2002 Z06 springs and believe me I did not want to take it that high. Like I said I was being a jackass.
As for the 12 sec. slip. It will happen.

I monitored my motor very well with the 5.3 150 shot. It wasn't the fact that it ran lean, but that it weakend the stock rods. When my motor gave out it wasn't on n2o.Just be prepared for it to give out. That way your not walking to work or spending unsuspected $BLING$BLING$. <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />
