Default little info on swap

I am going to swap out my 5.3 for my 6.0 tomorrow. Can anybody that has done a swap tell me if I need to have my ac discharged or can i get away with it hooked up? As well as my power steering? Any additional things you can tell me to do or watch out for would be very much appreciated. I am also swapping in a new(er) transmission that i just fitted with a shift kit and
servos.

Anything would be great guys.
Thanks

both can be left in the truck. the ac will just sit there. i leave the alternator and power steering attached to the bracket and just use some wire to hold it out of the way.

have fun, i think you will like the 6.0. it really is a prety easy swap.

yes, you will need the correct wrench. leave the belt on, put the wrench on the nut and hit it with a hammer. it will slip on the belt but after a few hits and repositioning of the wrench it will come loose. You will also want to take the intake off. the top tranny bolt is hard to get to with the intake on.

I have never tried pulling the motor and tranny as one unit.

i have swap the intake, all the sensors, all accesories, main crank pulley over to the 6.0.

it would probly be just as easy to pull the motor and drop the tranny than to fu$% with manuvering them out together

you will want to put the intake on after the motor is in the truck. if the 6.0 has a crank pully on it just leave it on there.

the crank pulley is off because the motor was torched in an H2. so the pulley was all charred and the rubber gasket inside the pulley was all burned up. the motor has been completly disassembled, bored a little due to the fact that it had water sitting in the cylinders. heads ported and polished. i pissed away more money at the machine shop than i would have ever thought. but it better go like hell

you will want to get a new bolt for that pully and you will also want to get an instalation bolt too. something about 20mm longer to help pull the pulley on.
