The rear diff on my Z71 is hard to lock up, and I was wondering if something is wrong or if it just plain sucks, or maybe what I think they should do is wrong. If I take off in a straight line I light up both tires. If I start straight and turn, I can fishtail. However, if I hit the gas with the steering wheel turned from the start, only the inside tire lights up, leaving me not going anywhere and roasting one tire. What gives? Is this just the way it is?

Ive been through two there are just crap, they are made by eaton and wont lock over 20 I feal lucky if they lock fully even under 20 sometimes I can hear mine making funny clickin sounds?? Ill be glad when I get a full posi unit the g80 is cheap and half ***.

That frikkin G80 is a wonder of engineering. So much went into the development of that pile.

PS. Might be time for an Eaton LSD.

My '03 HD has the locking diff. ...it seems to work "ok" but nothing like my PowerTrax that I installed in my '89. That thing locks up instantly all the time. Does anyone know if one can be installed on the newer trucks with factory installed lockers? I haven't done much research for the G80's ...wondering if anyone has installed one yet.
