Default Long Tube 4.3L headers

Does anyone make a LTH for the 4.3L. I noticed Tons of Longtube options for the S-series truck. Do those fit our engine bays or can you modify them to fit cause they would still be cheaper then Gibsons or JBA's.

I've seen a couple guys get some $99 long tubes for the older vortech V8 trucks and cut one tube off and cap it. The wiggled in there ok and you never saw the missing tube unless you were under the truck.

That works? I know they say the 4.3 is a 5.7 with one less cylinder but thats taking it literally.

It really is a 350 minus 2 cylinders. Same exact pistons and rods even. The 4.3L just doesnt have the 2 rear cylinders. As odd as it sounds, you can get 1.6 rockers cheaper if you buy a kit for a 350 vortech than if you buy the same rockers in a 4.3 kit. Not too sure why they do that.

If it helps any, I had an 01' RCSB with a 4.3L and had it running 15.1@88 in the 1/4. They are pretty amazing motors IMO.

without N2O.

Mods were:

Efan, 1.6 rockers, 4.10's w/detriot, dual in/out 2.5" muffler, Jet Stage II Chip, Jet SCU 2000, K&N drop in, cut air box, TB blade mod(best free mod ever on a 4.3L), and I also had some 255/50/16's on it.

I later put a comp cam in it but never had it at the track again. It may have gotten a 14.999 if I was lucky. The top end was much better for sure.

No stall or slicks either. It had tons of TQ off idle. I drove an identical truck with a 4.8 and it was WAY slower. After a few mods I had more TQ than a 4.8L but the TQ came in at 2500rpms vs. the 4.8L at 4000rpms.

Did you do the TB blade mod? It makes a ton of difference with throttle responce.
