Default Long tubes wanted for 350 Vortec?. Any ideas?

I am replacing my motor and looking for a set of coated long tube headers. I am having a very hard time trying to find them. Truck is a 98 Chevy K2500 4x4 with the 350 Vortec, auto, air etc. Please let me know my options. Thorley shows they have some but 2WD only. Thanks for your help.

Thorley headers are not 2wd only. I know because I have a set for 4wd. I got mine from Summit Racing.

You can also run Hooker long tube headers.
Here is a quote from a post on another forum. I believe his name is Hogg on this forum.

as is the 2806 1HKRvbut it is ceramic coated.

The followingare the Competition Seriesthe 2462 HKR (painted $180), 2462 1HKR (ceramic coated $340 I am using these) and 2462 2HKR is the same header but made from stainless. These headers are 1 5/*" x 2 1/2" collector.

the super Comps are equal length headers.
the Comps are not.

the Supercomps use 18ga tubing
The Comps run a thicker 16 ga. tubing.

As old red stated, these headers aredesigned for the 88-95 TBI engines, but due to the EGRfeed tube of teh 96-99 trucks, you will need to add an EGR feed bung into 1 of the drivers side primary tubes, if you want to retain EGR.

i am NOT running EGR so these 2462 1HKR heads dropped right in.

The above ehaders all have O2 sensor holes for teh TBI engines, teh Vortec engines use dual front O2 sensors so I just installed 2 O2 sensor bungs, 1 in each headpipe before the cats.

here is a paste from another post
Here is a California truck with the 2806 Supercomps that he added AIR and EGR fittings to.

and here

The truck will behave just fine with the AIR and EGR disabled via a tune.

You should get a tune anyways, just tell them to change teh AIR and EGR settings. Ed Wright at FAstchip did this for me.

he can also diable the rear O2 sesnor reporting. Tehrear O2 sensors simply tell teh PCM if teh cats are installed and functioning. If teh rear O2 sensor reportuing is disabled, teh PCM stops looking for them and doesnt report an error.

If cost is a factor go with teh 2462 HKR or 24621HKR, if there is salt on the roads then the ceramic coated 24621HKR is your only option really.

that $900 header you were lookingat is what was installed in the Tahoe in the pasted portion that I supplied above. very nice headers for big power applications.
