The only problem I see is the Tundra is a 7/8 truck. I do a lot of towing and the Tundra just did not cut it for capacity.

A friend has a Tundra and he has the same problem with towing heavy loads. He like his and I like mine.

Well right now Im at 151,242 mi and have had no problems once so ever, except for the pw motors going out. I do think that this truck will keep on going forever.

i owned a 1994 toyota pickup 4x4....rebuilt and bored 30 over....i took that thing down every trail and through every mud hole i could find... i have a 2004 silverado right now and ill tell you....i sure as hell miss that toyota... it never broke down on me once...never stalled in the mud or failed to let me down... it started like a champ every time, i never really knew what color it was either cause it was always covered with dirt and mud...

i like the looks and power of my chevy...but when it comes down to it, that toyota would out last the chevy anyday... everything was stock on it too...

honestly i think all the newer trucks cant go through half the crap of the older ones... the quality and time spent on the older models made them worth having...

if your looking for just a new reliable truck... the toyota and chevy are going to be about the same in terms of reliability... i would say go with whatever brand and looks you like.

It's not that a Toyota lasts forever...

It just FEELS like it. Kinda like when you're sitting at a boring relatives house and aren't supposed to leave.

PS - a 65HP Mercedes Unimog will outlast any other truck. And a 1500HP Pro Drag Truck will last only minutes.

Gutless vehicles do last longer. Go buy a Diesel Rabbit Pickup. You will shoot yourself within a year though, and the next owner will marvel at how long it lasts until he kills himself also.

Now don't get me wrong, I love my Chevy truck, but after working as a Toyota tech for over 12 years, I can honestly say that they are the best built vehicles out there. Plus, you get a 5 year 60k warranty as opposed to 3/36? It's amazing how much **** started breaking on my truck after about 3 1/2 years...annoying little ****, but still. A Toyota service department does 25% warranty work and 75% cash work while a Chevrolet service department does 75% warranty work and 25% cash work...sad but true.

Toyotas do not make enough power to bust.

If Toyotas don't break, why would they warranty them at all? Or why not lifetime? Don't the Korean cars have a longer warranty? And Dodge?

Sorry to go a little bit off topic, but have you guys seen the new tacoma X-Runner? Sport trucks just ran a 14.9@93mph in an extended cab one, and it comes with a 6 speed manual. You can also get the TRD supercharger on top of the 245hp, and two eighty something lbft tq. All with that 5 year, 60k mi warranty.

Also, I don't know about the tundra, but we had a delivery truck tacoma that went 120k and didn't do ANYTHING but change fluid, filters, and one set of brake pads. Put that thing through hell too. They like the abuse.

I got that also! It is right in my ear. It comes and goes and absolutely drives me nuts. I tracked it down to the clips that hold the rear door window/door panel on. Truck is going back to the dealer in a couple of weeks and that is on my punch list. Sorry about stealing the thread...

What's really cool is if you dont like the power, you can get an TRD (Toyota Racing Division) Eaton supercharger bolted right on at the Toyota dealer and it will have the same warranty as the rest of the truck.
