Longtubes w/Aerochamber/Flowmaster hybrid system
On my 02 Silverado I added Ebay longtubes some weeks ago. It was too loud, raspy, and resonated with just the Flowmaster catback, so I added "Summit Bullet" muffler into the "I" pipe to tame it down a little. It did tame it...a LITTLE.
I finally removed the Bullet muffler and swapped on a Hooker Aerochamber.
Complete exhaust:
Ebay/OBX style longtubes (1-5/8" primaries, 2.5" collectors)
Ebay Y pipe with mini resonators (2.5" pipes, 3" exit at flange)
3" "I" pipe with 3" center in/center out Hooker Aerochamber inline
3" in/dual 2.5" out Flowmaster 2 chamber muffler (basically an echo chamber, lol)
Dual 2.5" tailpipes to the rear bumper
Truck has stock 100K mile plus engine, exhaust is modded, as is the stock airbox, HPTuners tuned by me.
I attached 2 vids.
One is 65mph highway cruise and short WOT with windows up (as it was 29* out this morning)
Second is idle and rev from 10 feet away (inside large garage).
Vids were taken with my digital camera, so quality isn't the best.
Overall, I finally reached my goal with this setup.
QUIET at cruise, LOUD enough (for ME) at WOT...

.
On a side note: I also installed my Cognito Motorsports idler/pitman arm support kit today, as well as a new Moog Idler Arm Pivot Bracket Assembly, and the slight shimmy I had is now 100% gone.
