BigKID they are pretty deep. not like sacrificing the cranks integrity deep, but you can definitely feel the score marks all in it. It really chewed itself up on there.

Todd, ya I know I should have pinned the pulley right off the bat, but I learned the hard way I guess. (well at least the balancer didn't fly off) Thanks for the link Todd.

Smooth Sierra- ya I know a perfectly straight hole will be difficult to do, but I know I can do it if I take my time while drilling.

Here is the link to the pinning kit I am thinking about getting (.pdf file): http://www.magnacharger.com/pdf/manual04.pdf
STEPS 20-25 show the process.

Wow. Did you know you had spun it before you removed the pulley?

I hate to admit it, but I can see myself ghetto-rigging this. I'd end up shimming it with a cut up beer-can or pinning it myself with two grade 8 bolts.

No kidding... I have to wonder if you torque it all back down if you'd now have more "traction" for both surfaces to bite into?

The maganacharger kit comes with the drill bit, the tooling to ensure a straight drill, the pin, and a new crank bolt.

I think it would just continue to chew itself up. When it gets pressed on, it probably would pull some material along with it since the surfaces are no longer smooth. When it turns 'quickly' it would score it all up again leaving it with even less mating surface.

It kind of seems like it would have more 'traction', but it just grinds that stuff up like nothing I bet.

Alright! there's the guy I needed to talk to. Hey Brian, do you have a part number for the kit? or if I call up Magnacharger and tell them I need the 'corvette harmonic balancer pinning kit' they would know what to order?
