1700-6600 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Requires computer tuning on automatic transmission cars. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended.

i will still get it tuned but i have a 5spd...will that make a difference?

im sticking with the 4.8. my friends brother owns a customization shop. going to talk to him about a custom turbo setup...so my 'cam' choice might change depending on this conversation. but it won't be a full blown crazy turbo setup....as i would like to stick with the 5spd transmission...
You have to remember, when they say 1700-6600rpms, they are refering to a 5.7 LS1. The 4.8 will not react to the cam and make power @ 1700 rpms, it will actually loose power until like 2500-3000. I'm only saying this because I've drove an ext. cab 4.8 with the 224/224-114 w/ a TCI 3000 stall and it didn't make decent power until about the 3500-4000rpm range. It did pull hard until the 6700 shift point though. In our truck engines, the TR224 is mainly a top-end cam IMO. Not bashing it, I just think it's too big for the 4.8/5.3 motors.

well i got a 5spd.

i figure if im racing i dont need power at 2k rpms...i don't drop that low switchin gears. but we'll see. i got a year to plan out my truck and than the money rolls in so i can spend it all. if u read the sig..getting married...so truck is 2nd until june 11th..haha
