Default Looking for 6.0 Power to Tow

Looking to get more power (torq) out of my 02 2500HD 6.0 w/410's for towing 9500 lbs. Would I get noticable improvements, adding a K&N filter, with Magnaflow cat. back exhaust? Would I need elec. mods? Any advise without getting into the engine would be greatly appreciated.

the biggest thing I can tell you and you wont have to get into the engine is get a radix supercharger. the air filter and exhaust will help a little but it really wont be noticable. what size tires are you running?

agreed with Jerry, or move to a 4.56 gear, you really need some sort of force induction to really ge tthat thing to handle pulling well.

Thanks! Nice set up. But I'm looking at the most for the minimum.

You will by far get your most bang for your buck with deeper gears (4.56's) and then maybe a tune too. The deeper gears will put engine better into its power range when towing and will make more difference with a 9500lb trailer than anything else short of a supercharger. There is no tune that is a "silver bullet" for your problem. Sorry.

The STS will give you more HP and TQ plus better fuel Mpg's. I've gain 2 mpg's city and highway and 3.5 mpgs towing. I still can't believe it. The campers 8500lbs dry and proubly 9500lbs+ loaded. I pull it 70 mph and it never get out of OD going up bridges and hills.

some type of a cold air intake, exhaust and get it programmed. the stock program on that 6.0 is pretty week. there is alot of improvement to be had there.

I seriously doubt this. (and I am not a diesel freak) They would have to be real gentle hills with a tail wind with that weight and 4.10's with a 6.0. The 6.0 is a good engine but it does not have that much beans towing in OD.
