Default looking at fiting some 15x10's not looking good.

first thing. the factory rim is tapered and so is the caliper. it looks to me like if a 15" rim was flat and not tapered it might fit ok toward the outer edge of the caliper. toward the inner edge it would need to be ground but most of what needs to be ground would be some ribbing. it looks to me like there would be enugh caliper material left.

the problem i see is the brake line sticks out farther than the caliper. there is no way i see to move it or gring it. the brake line is not inside the rim right now but if i was to go with a 10" rim i would like to increase the back spacing. with that brake line there all the extra rim width would have to go out and the back spacing remain the same. that would push the wheels out past the edge of the truck quite a ways and look funny.

there is room for about 1/2" more back spacing. the stock wheels are 7" so i could goto an 8" rim and the tire would stay at the same spot. with any wider of a rim the tire would move toward and past the edge of the truck. thats the bigest problem i see. either run an 8" rim and keep the tire under the truck or run a 9-10" rim and let it hang out. other options include swaping to a drum brake rear or running the 28.7" tall nittos with 18" rims.

Go with the 18's Parish...add a little "bling" to the truck.

Have you looked into the 05+ drums? Wonder if they're any smaller?

What about the fronts? Are they easier to fit 15s on?

i think 15's would fit on the front prety easy, there apears to be more room. not sure about the 05 rears. i am prety sure the drum set up would be smaller but dont really know.

I would like to know what you find out because I am in the same boat. Looking for a 15x10 but I just don't want to look to stupid with the tire sticking to far out.

I've got 16x9's on my truck with 295/50/16's. You can get 305/50/16's on the rims no prob.

I'll look right quick and see how tall the 305/50 is.

Yeah, for racing I use a 15x10 white spoke. It sticks about halfway out of the fender and looks like ***. I haven't had anyluck finding a 16" wheel that will tuck up under there either. I am looking at getting 2 more 16x8's to match my everyday wheels and running those 28x11.50-16 ET streets on em.

ok, i am going to go for it. i will worry about what it looks like later, i know any tire under 29" looks funny because i tried that on my last truck so this time my tires will be 30" tall but stick out some. if it looks really bad then i will just run the set up when i have a big race lined up.

here is the rim i think i will try. you can get an 8 or 10" width and any back spacing so i am going to gofor a 15x10 with 1/2" more back spacing than stock, they are cheap too. this will put a hell of alot of tire sticking out but **** it. what can you do. i am going to order just one today and make sure i can fit the rim on the truck and then order one tire and be sure that fits and if that goes well order the rest of the set. probably go all out on the tire also, thinking 315/60/15 mt drag radial.
