Default Looking for more power

My truck runs great, but I'm looking to get more out of it. I am not looking to go to a 6.0. What's your thoughts on the following mods. BTW, I do all my own work. Check my sig for current configuration. Help me spend my money

1. Open up air box
2. 243/799 heads, milled .025"-.030" to equal or slightly increase compression over stock heads.
3. Port match and clean up head castings.
4. TBSS/GMT900 intake and a 90mm cable operated throttle body.
5. Port the new throttle body.
6. Port match intake
7. Still considering 1.8 roller rockers. Will my current LS6 springs allow the .560" lift they would give me?
8. What about a new cam? Would the new heads, intake, and throttle body allow me to take advantage of a little larger cam? I'd love to get some more lope out of it as well. Or would 1.8 rockers be just as good?
9. Last but not least, a good tune.

1. I like the heads...

2. I would get the FAST LSXRT with a 92mm throttle body if you can, it made 20rwhp over the TBSS/GMT900.

3. The only factor in springs is not "if they will take the lift". LS6 springs are designed to be low performance, low stress spring that will last 100k plus miles when used with a slow and lazy OEM camshaft also designed for 100k+ miles. Your aftermarket Comp cam is not big, but I'm sure its much more aggressive that the OEM cam. You need to look into some aftermarket springs, like 918s.

4. You also have to determine if the price of the rockers is worth it or not. 1.8 Rockers cost more than a $350-$400 cam. You could simply buy a new LSR cam 215/223 .604/.607 and sell your old cam to recover some money. The stock LS rockers are awesome, except for the trunions(get Comp 13702-KIT, I just installed mine not too long ago)

5. I don't see pushrods here?!?!? It the very 1st thing anyone should change on these engines when doing upgrades!

6. Tune, surely!!! Id honestly learn to do it yourself with HPTuners and a wideband. Ive seen too many people spend $400-$600 for a tune only to have some hack shortcut the system and not really do much for the money.

I have Trick Flow push rods.

I don't care to spend as much as the FAST intake. The TBSS looks like a good compromise/value.

It doesn't look like LS6 springs will support the added lift of 1.8 rockers, or a new cam. I hear tha 918s are very noisey. What's another option that is quiet?

I love the idea of a bigger cam, but don't want to stab myself in the back. Am I going to loose noticeable torque below 2K? How about the rest of the powerband? BTW, I found a set of 1.83 rockers for $350. That would basically turn my existing cam into a 214/220 .562/.569. It would still have 114 LSA and no more chop though. Thoughts?

I just made my first purchase. I picked up a set of 1.82 Comp Cams Ultra-Gold Rocker Arms, LINK. This will basically give me a 214/220 .559/.566 cam, while also freeing up a little friction loss. I'd love to run a bigger cam, but I'd just be shooting myself in the foot, according to everything I've read.

What can I expect to gain from 243 heads milled for 10.25-10.5 compression and port matched?

How much might I expect from a TBSS intake and 90mm TB?

i would go for heads , milled.. cam and a stall maybe a 3200? .. i find the fast intake really good for the gains to be honest but the price is a bit too much if u count dollar per horsepower

Can I continue to run my LS6 springs with the .566 lift I'll now have? I'll only be revving to 6K.

What's the best deal on a 90mm DBC TB to go with the TBSS intake? I've seen a coulple Edelbrock options for about $320 Any OEM options?
