Lost my Low End "GRUNT"
Benefits to adding larger diameter wheels and wider, stickier, high performance tires: BLING BLING
DRAWBACKS to adding larger diameter wheels and wider, stickier HP tires: severe loss of low end power!!!
WHat a pisser! I thought I was lookin' all 'ed out with my new polished Denali rims and 285 Scorpion Zeros, until I got licked up off the line by this ricer that I'd killed a few times in the past!!! My truck has definitely lost it on the low end spectrum, even with my 3.73 lockers. What can you guys recommend to bolt on that will restore my lost low end power? NO, I'm not switching gears, I have a 4x4 and do like to run over 80 mph, so a gear swap is out. But, would some headers help me, or should I just go ahead and switch to a z06 cam, intake, pushrods and springs? I've had this on my "LIST" and would push this one to the top if it would restore (plus extra) my low end! ANy help?
THANKS!!

I don't see how a cam or intake would help your lowend power.
If you have $800 you can buy some AS&M headers (awsome *** headers). But if your after lowend maybe you might want some Thorley Tri-Y headers. They are specifically designed for big lowend gains. Thats why I bought them.

Thorley TRi Y's HUh? Cool, I've ben checking those out along with the ASM's, but DAMN they're expensive!! Oh well, you get what you pay for always holds true, especially with parts!!
Thanks for the info. on the Z06 cam, I didn't know that it peaked so high!!
As for a stall, that's out..I tow something weekly so unlest I went with that Yank 3000 that you can supposedly tow with, I'm out. BTW, what EXACTLY, does a stall do for you. I know they engage like a reg. converter when you reach cruising speeds, but down low and off the line, how do they react? Does it make the truck hard to drive or make it rev up before taking off? My wife wouldn't be into that too much!! Truthfully, I hear all this talk about stalls and do not really know how they work or understand them enough to seriously consider buying one!
Thanks bruddahs!

Ahh, the Yank TT 3000. Still kicking myself for not putting it in.
Tucker,
I'm right there with you on the heavy wheel thing. 20's look pimp but they suck for straight line performance.
