Question Loud clicking from the rear!!!???

Hey fellas, I have a question that's a little vague but want to see if there were any ideas to be thrown around. I just came back from a long road trip and noticed now when I take off, I hear a loud clicking noise that sounds like it's coming from the rear somewhere. So far we've checked the G80 to see if one tire was spinning and it grenaded, both tires spin!! Listened to see if it was an exhaust leak but it's definitely not. Also we noticed that it continues to happen until we stop accelerating hard, I'd say anything above 35% throttle. I hooked up the Efi scanner and there's no DTC codes being thrown out so it's probably nothing with the motor. No loss in power, so I'm guessing I don't have a problem with the tranny either. Everything is still shifting correctly, no slip, no vibrations.

Hmmm.....I would've also thought is was going to be G80, but I would also check the rear discs just to make sure those are not causing the problem. Even tough the g80 locked up it might be on its final days. But man it could be anything from the rear.Hope you find the problem!

Could it be something as stupid as a nail in the tire? My driverside made an ungodly clicking noise and it turned out to be a large nail. Or maybe a bolt/nut is loose somewhere. Or maybe someone is messing with you and putting pennies in your rims

Last year my truck was making the same sound that you just described. It only did it under hard acceleration. It was a bad universal joint.

I just had a problem like this it was my starter bendix not retracting and under aceleration it would shift forward and hit the flywheel causing a grinding, replaced the bendix and all is well.
