that kind of depends on what you want. their are catbacks out their that are extremely loud but sound horrible. Then their is catbacks that sound awesome and are still loud. My choice for a catback is corsa, or B&B. Add some ASM headers take off the cats. It will scream and be very loud. If you want it loudeer put on bullet mufflers.

Yeah, a Corsa is quite loud when you're on the pedal - but real civilized when you're not.
http://yo_marc.tripod.com - a .wav of my old one. The truck was a little cold - it rev'ed quicker when fully warm.
I'll be ordering a B&B dual/split rear exit soon.

what my experience has been is no ones cat back is real loud
I normally take a cat back kit and then replace the muffler
with a louder one
my 91 - I replaced the 70 series 3 camber muffler with a 50 2 camber
my 03 - read my sig - replace with a race truck muffler
other cat back I have done - did the same
I feel that most manufacturers dont want to make their product too loud
The majority of the public dont want it as loud as we do...
It want it loud and powerful - you have to make it yourself....

That wasn't even all that loud! For some reason it was louder the two earlier days, when it was around -2.
I put that up because I wasn't sure if it was piston slap, or oil flow issues.
BTW: sorry for the popups.

Stainless Works new Tom Henry Racing Chambered Exhaust
We have a new chambered exhaust system for the 4.8L, 5.3L shortbed, standard cab chevy/gmc trucks. The cat back system runs from the two bolt flange and has dual chambered tube mufflers, with dual 2 1/2" tailpipes that both exit on the passenger side behind the rear tire. The system is 304 s/s and includes all hangers, clamps, and (2) rolled edge 3" double wall tips. Its sounds great at idle and has a great sound at full throttle. Retail pricing is $699 and the system is available through us or Tom Henry Racing. We will have pictures on our web site at www.stainlessworks.net by the middle of next week.
If a customer wants, we can build the muffler SCREAMING loud by special order.
I will also post a link on this site as soon as I have the photography done.
Thanks
Al
