if the fitiment is ok and price is good, who cares where they are made? If you save $500, get basically the same performance, go for it. All research i have seen is they are awesome. Sure some larger companies can't touch them for the price...if LPP is a smaller based operation, they don't have the R&D staff, CS staff, sales staff, etc, etc to pay for.
If you feel better paying the $1000 for another brand, I'm sure they'd like the business.
But have yet to see any real evidence the LPP's aren't a good header.

We all as customers want the best for the cheapest we can get, then put items under suspect when someone supplies it for us.

You make a great point, but you bet your *** if somebody tells you that a product is made in X place and come to find out it isn't I don't care if it works or not thats bullshit.. This thread has got way turned around, from the beg.. I was just curious if anybody had the merge collectors on theirs.. Seems that all the f-bod ones I see have them.. maybe the guys are just ordering them with the mergers...

Agree. Be truthfull, easier now, than later.
Also, with new import/export laws, you can have the tubing done in Asia, and all welding done in US. If over 50% of the actual 'cost' to assemble the item, for sale, packaging,etc...you can say "Made in the USA". Even if 45% is off shore.

maybe the F body kit already comes with ? I haven't paid attention to the adds for his in the F body.

They claim the merge collector adds 5-10 hp. That's a TON when you consider the amount that headers add total. For example headers generally add 15-25 rwhp. If the merge collector adds 5 rwhp that's between a 20% and 33% gain in power! The problem is they want $300 on top of the $500 for the headers/y pipe for the merge collectors and I dont even know if that includes welding them on. When you add up all the cost, the price of the Torco band clamps (need 3 or 4, $13 each)....you're probably looking at $900. Now compare that to ARH. They were selling for $1150ish on that group buy for 1 7/8" headers (would gain significantly over 1 3/4 esp. for someone FI like you) and dual exhaust. All made in the USA, ball and socket collector joints, presumably better steel (again getting back to the dull vs. shiney looking SS)....

I would love a set of 1 7/8 headers but the price has as always has been the draw back. I do think when I get the 408 built I will go with the ARH headers for the size, but my lpp's will due for now.

Sorry, but I will disagree with this. Everything I've read on LS1tech indicates to go with 1 7/8. Just saw a bone stock LS3 swap dyno in the dyno section there in an 01 z06 put down 435/429 with 1 7/8 kooks. Hell, even ARH recommends the 1 7/8 on a h/c 6.0. Why would I waste my time with 1 3/4 when it's only $40 to upgrade?
