Default LQ-4 oil cooler question

My LQ-4 (2006) came from the salvage yard with the oil cooler removed. I do have the two lines that come off above the oil filter. I would like to use this set-up again and hook up a cooler. Is there a thermostat in the the part that attaches to the oil pan below where the lines come out? Or was the themostat near or in the factory cooler someplace? Thanks

No thermostat for the oil cooler it has 100% circulation at all times. Up north where you are its a waste of time anyways.
