LQ4 with 823 (L92) heads???????
Ok so after 5 years of beating this 5.3 to death, i sold basically everything under the hood and bought a 6.0 and some 823 heads, havent decided on an intake but will be running direct port nitrous sytem on it.
Now for my question, what needs to be done to run these heads, ill be running a small cam 224/230 .581 .588 112, the truck is a weekend driver and id like to be able to drive it to the track on pump gas if at all possible. now if i just bolt the heads up, im under the impression i can run 7.4 pushrods and ill have 10:1 compression, and shouldnt have a PTV issue. to my understanding it wont run the greatest on motor but on spray it should run really well which is fine by me.
What do you guys think, does this sound ok, and what octane gas should i run.
Also what are you alls opinions on how i should go about this, should i get the heads milled, different push rods etc etc. Opinions welcomed, dont be afraid to break stuff down like a 5 year old is on the other side of the screen either hahaha. Thanks gents. If it matters ill be running a 90mm TB and no less than a 200 shot.

I have a gauge for that

Cam has relatively low lift, and is a common grind. L92s require a 4in bore that an lq4 has. Stock length pushrods should work fine as long as the heads arent milled. 10:1 compression is normal for a stock engine. Looks to me like everything is fine...

yea one way we did was an lq4 with 317s is 9.4 which are 72cc and l92s are 70.5 so it puts it at 9.6, either way I can run pump gas so i dont care. Thanks for the help guys heads will be here monday, id like to give a guestimate on when itll be running but i have no clue, got a few safety measures to put in place on this 6.0
