Question LQ4, LQ9; true or false

I read somewhere that the only difference between the LQ9 and the LQ4 was that the LQ9 pistons have a flat surface, and that the LQ4s pistons have a bowl shapped. I read that this is what gives the LQ9 more power and compresion. Is this true. If this is true, then all I would have to do is take a LQ4 block and put in LQ9 pistons and the LQ4 would have the power of a LQ9.
True or False

Thanks

Since When Has The Dealer Given Anyone Straight. Information? Most Of Them Cant Give You The Correct Info On The Vehicle They Are Trying To Sell You.

I've got an LQ9 with the same heads as my LQ4, casting 317. I pulled an LQ9 from an escalade last year and it had casting 317 heads, same as my SS and all the other LQ4s out there. Try again.

Jason, the heads are the same. The pistons and connecting rods are different in the LQ9. Pistons are a floating pin design and have a coated piston skirt with a flat top, and the rods are noticeably thicker. LQ4 pistons have press fir wrist pins and are cast with about a 7cc dish in the top to lower compression.

How about sharing where you got this infinite wisdom from??? I am willing to bet you are off a bit on that claim.
