317 cast is a 317 cast. The stealer is probably getting confused about the iron heads and the alum heads of different year 6.0's.

LQ4's got dished slugs. LQ9's got flat tops and beefier con-rods.

whats the point of the dished pistons?
more complete combustion?

Less compression and they can use the same heads.

why would you want less comression, is it so you can run the cheap gas?

well if you think they are the same then you go ahead and use them you use the ones off the lq4 and sell me the ones off of the lq9

What year motors are you talking about man?? There are 2 cast numbers, 317 and 035. But head specs are exactlly the same. But the 317 and 035 heads were cast differently. The 317's were sand cast and the 035's were die cast. Thats the only difference. I havent heard of anybody with 035 heads on anything. Plus all I have ever seen or come across on a 6.0 are 317's.

"If you look up in GM parts, the 035 casting reflects the head part number that is used on the CNG/LPG head for 2003. the diff. is the harndened valve seats. Both the 317 and 035 have been found on both LQ4 and LQ9. GM always gives a different casting number for a different process."
