rated for yes, but they are stronger then 300/360 figuring 20-22% driveline loss on the dyno.

Part of the confusion probably comes from some(?) head porters who are advertising that they are porting "LQ9 heads", like they are different than any other aluminum 6.0 head out there.

The other part of the confusion is from that LS1/LS6 book that came out a couple of years ago by Chris Endres. He made it sound like LQ9 heads were preferred and better than the others. Turns out the book was filled with bits and pieces of misinformation.

Physically, there is nothing different from the Denali LQ4 and the Silverado LQ4. GM "rates" them 20hp different, but the difference is in the tuning.

Here is an example.

Here is a 2003 Silverado SS HO timing table.

Here is the same table with a 2002 6.0 LQ4 timing table pasted over it.

Blue numbers are decreases - pink/red numbers are increases...

The 035's are supposed to be later model die cast heads, vs. convetional sand cast on the rest. I have yet to see a 035 head myself.

I remember when the LQ9 came out in the Escalade...there were several articles that said the heads were different on the H.O. motors. Wasn't there some speculation that there were a short run of heads that were actually different from the LQ4's?

I'm quite sure it will at least bolt up -- all of the GenIII's can use the same auto trannies and converters.

I'm just not sure about flex plates and what-not... I would 'bet' that everything would work.

Someone in this forum did a T-56 swap, but I don't remember what motor he had it front of it.

Of all the years and of the two motors, Which one is best for boost and which one is best for NA?

Would It be cheaper to find a bare motor with heads and just swap everything over from my 5.3 to the 6.0?
