Curious why replace the pistons if the LQ4s will work with what you are doing? I'm running LQ4 pistons with 862s and I think you are correct it's right at 10.5-1 I'm actually going to run a calculator now. Also are you ever going to boost it?

I was going to freshen the engine. Pistons would only be needed if we had enough wear to justify while its apart. Truck will never be boosted.

Texas Speed PRC 225 heads with LS9 ( 0.055) head gaskets. Wish I would have went with a 0.045 thick head gasket for better quench. A tighter quench helps control knock and may allow for a skosh bit of extra timing.
