LQ4 Swap ?'s 4L60E bolt up???
The truck was originally a V6. Motor blew so the guy swapped in a 5.3 out of an 02. Everything was converted to fly by wire. Now I am swapping to a 2000 LQ4. A couple questions. I tried searching and didn't find a lot of answers. I know that some people say that the 4L60E will bolt up with the removal of a spacer, but some say it won't because of a longer crank. Can someone tell me for sure before I get there. Also, since I am drive by wire now, what can I do for the throttle body? Can I use the one off my 5.3? Also, do I need to modify the harness or does someone make an adapter for the harness? Do I need to use my 5.3 intake also? A little help please. Or would it be easier to just use all of my stock stuff and go buy a harness that was taken off a newer one that had the fly by wire? Just looking for the easiest. Thanks guys

The 6.0 comes with a harness, but it's for cable throttle. Do I need to get one that's drive by wire because that's what my 5.3 is? Also, still leaves the intake and throttle body question.

As GMCTrk mentioned, if you're hellbent on this 00 6.0, you're going to have to bolt it up to a 4L80E as it won't bolt up to a 60E. I did once read here something about removing some spacer and it will work, but everything else that I've read through the years contradicts that. The common consensus was always 99-00 LQ4=80E only. If this is the case (I'm not 100% sure anymore due to conflicting reports), then you're going to want the harness from the donor engine that will work with an 80E. If it's a complete engine, use the intake, throttle body, etc. If not, I believe that your 5.3 intake may work, (some have different vacuum fittings by the throttle body than others) and you'll just need a cable throttle body which can be had fairly cheap.
