Default LQ9 and 4l80E swap complete!!! WoW!!!

well finaly after 1 year and 2 months the truck is mobile again and what a difference. I still have a few issues to work out with Allen and my tranny is a little funny but it is rolling and rolling strong. I know your suppose to break them in for a couple of hundred miles but I thought since I let it run for about 10 hours in the shop I was safe and mashed the pedal a few times. I must say the 13 second 4.8 has nothing on the 6.0 I am hoping to make it to the track with in the next 2 weeks and maybe a dyno after all the bugs are worked out.

Ahhhh, i see.You wanted to take it easy on the motor.Well,it has been my experiance to not take it easy on new motors.I'm not sayin redline it a bunch but its good to drive it fairly hard. This is really important within the first 10 miles. Then after 100 miles you need to give it a decent foot in break in department.
Best thing to do is give it plenty of gas but dont go over about 5500 rpms at first. Also transbraking is good because this allows pressure to build on the motor in a differant mannor.
I'd say keep th revs below 5500rpms for at least 100 miles then give it some more from there. But all in all its a good idea to give it the gas when breakin it in.This allows all the rings and seals to seal up as they are meant to do.

I bet that thing sounds great with the cam choice and 11:1 compression, if I were to build a 6.0 it would be along those same specs.

Now lets see some open header burnout vids.

well I thought all was well and today I find my brand new 200amp alt has went out and starting going out when I was on my way to work this morning. I had to get a 2nd battery to make it home. Also I have lost 1st gear and revers in the tranny. So it may be a little longer depending on what is wrong. I am going to call FLT tomorrow and find out what might be going on.
