Default LQ9 Shortblock RPM Limits?

Hey guys, what RPM are safely truning your stock bottom ended LQ9s?

Im getting ready to do a cam swap and the valvetrain will be fine on limit speed. If I end up with a valvetrain that will spin 7000+ RPM, in control, Im not going to spin it there if the bottom end cant take it.

What are you guys shifting at?

install rod bolts, good pushrods and dual springs...you should be fine if you have an intake that support that airflow like the ported fast. on tech youll see LQ9 spin 7k easy

Im not tearing it apart at this point. Its in my S-10 already and Im doing a valvetrain upgrade and looking at what it will handle the way it is.

i shift mine @ 6800 and the rev limiter is set @ 7250, I hit rev limiter only at the track when im doing the burnouts, its held mine, mine is stock bottom end with only comp cam springs and hardened pushrods... so I dont think you NEED rod bolts and such, by the way on my old 5.3 I had the same shiftpoints and rev limiter on that also, so go ahead dont be scared!!
