As long as I can get close to that 450 mark I think I'll be happy. I'm not going to be taking this thing to the track. I'll just be doing some go fast duning and maybe once in a while I'll lite up the 35's on pavement to give the ricers a scare. What would you guys recommend as far as heads, cam? Remember, this is going to be a daily driver so keep a lean towards torque in your recommendations. Thanks for your time and any info is greatly appreciated.

P.S. Maybe in a year or two we can talk stroker kit but right now after paying for the swap I won't have the $6,000+ to do it.

TEA heads are the ****, and you can order a custom comp grind cam, or order one of the sponsor cams to the right, in that case i would reccomend WWW.THUNDERRACING.COM.

I think I'm there too. Same thing, used cam, used longtubes, used valsprings w/ titanium retainers, LS1 edit.
450 fwhp wont be that hard. No stroker, no really high rpms, no blower, no nitrous. Just decent cam, and good bolt-ons. If I remember correctly, PCMFORLESS made in the 320s rwhp with a stock LQ9, tuning and some misc bolt-ons.

Awesome. I can't wait to get this done. What cam are you guys using? What does your torque curve look like/feel like? With any luck I'll have this thing done by next dune season.

One more question. I've already talked to Don Lee Auto in Socal about doing the swap and right now I'm leaning towards them as I've seen that they do some pretty good work. Can you guys recommend another shop in Socal that could do it? I'd like to look at some other options if there are any? Thanks for your time.

Yes, I did make 327 at the wheels on my SS with a tune, Magnaflow muffler, and a borrowed K&N tube with a stock paper filter. My heads and cam setup are torque designed and made 370 RWTQ from 3400 RPM thru 5500 RPM and it really pulls like a beast. Stick with Don Lee, if you've seen their work and they are reputable then you can't beat a proven performer. Personally if i lived in that part of the world i'd go to Project R, but if you're comfortable with the other guy and have seen what he can do...well, get'er done and report the results to us.
