My gt2-3 really sucks in my truck even with a 2600 converter and being in an lq4. If I actually drove my truck I would take the time to swap it out.

Funny you mention that. A friend had my exact truck with a gt2-3 in it before I had done my cam swap. It had no converter, but I was pretty surpsised at the lack of off idle/bottom end performance. So many people, even with 5.3's, claim NO LOSS off the bottom with this cam. I just dont think its true. In fact I think my 222/226 pat G special has more sack down low than that thing did, I am also running it with no converter at the moment. One thing I will say though is for how mild that cam acts and drives it had real nice pull up top.

Once I removed the Maggie my denali was a dog with the gt2-3 and a stock converter. I swapped in the Vinci ultra torque since its a DD and now I can get across an intersection without getting hit!
